The New York Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) commissions the improvement and repair of the Red Hook Library. Work is to be performed at Red Hook Library (RHL).
The library was constructed in 1975 and recently underwent renovations to address damage incurred during Superstorm Sandy, reopening in 2013. It is a neighborhood library serving families and children and offering programming for toddlers, school-age children and teens. This capital project will provide the physical comfort and facilities needed for children, families and individuals to focus on the knowledge-based tasks at hand in a comfortable physical environment arranged to inspire use of all the library has to offer.
Armand Corporation, in conjunction with NYCEDC, has been charged with the competitive procurement of the design team for the RHL project. Design teams and their sub consultants will be responsible for the planning concept, design development, construction documents and construction administration for design-related scopes of work. All qualified firms should demonstrate a creative design approach to producing appealing and inviting exterior and interior spaces, the ability to produce deliverables in a timely manner and possess the appropriate knowledge required to administer all aspects of the project effectively.
